Liquid Cat is my inspiration for Self-care today

I live in Brisbane.

We’ve just had a cyclone.

Except we haven’t.

For several adrenaline and cortisol filled days, and a few of sleepless nights, we’ve been frantically preparing for a show down with Alfred. Who ended up being a bit of a No Show.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m really grateful we didn’t get flooding, or power loss, or lose a roof like people in other areas. But the feeling of anti-climax is real.

I’m exhaustamipated. (That’s a word right?) That feeling when you’re exhausted but also hyped up and twitchy.

So, I’m taking self-care inspiration from my cat, Mr Sox. I have spent much of the day napping to the sound of rain, when not eating pancakes. And now I’m doing a bit of writing.

Hope you’re all doing okay. Please take care of yourself, no matter where you are or what you are going through.

Don’t forget Jules and I will be hosting a timely Self-Compassion and Self-Care Workshop in Brisbane on 16 Sunday March 2025 at The Gap. Bookings can be made from Quirky Quolls (scroll down to the appointments section).
