Counselling
Counselling focuses on exploring and resolving emotional issues and past experiences, while coaching focuses more on setting goals and creating positive changes in your life.
Counselling is sometimes referred to as “talk therapy”. It tends to be more conversational and less structured than coaching and explore areas of interest through discussion and reflection. My sessions are underpinned with self-compassion and may help you explore the role of self-narrative (stories we tell ourselves about the world and how we live in it).
I provide a blend of tailored counselling and coaching that focuses on:
Identifying your strengths, preferences and values.
Identifying priorities.
Setting realistic and achievable goals.
Identifying sources of support and workable strategies.
Planning for and maintaining change.
Neurodivergent Coaching
Neurodivergent coaching sessions involve identifying areas that you would like to make changes and setting goals, then learning techniques and strategies that you can use at home, in the community, or in the workplace.
Areas of focus may include:
Managing fluctuating energy levels.
Getting stuff done.
Sensory and emotional regulation.
Helping parents to support their children at home, school and in the community.
Self-advocacy in the workplace, health system and/or the community.
NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coaching and Support Coordination
Face to face in Brisbane & Ipswich. Remote support Australia-wide.
I also provide psychosocial recovery coaching and support coordination for NDIS participants. I currently have capacity for a few more.
I support and empower neurodiverse people and their families to access mainstream and NDIS services.
My training in psychology, counselling and health promotion has equipped me with a wealth of experience and skills, which allow me to recommend best-fit services that are neuro-affirming, strengths-based and evidence-based.
I have lived experience of neurodiversity and experience working with people with diverse gender and sexual identities.
